Quilt Teal - benefiting Ovarian Cancer!
We have Kits available for this great quilt!
Comfort Quilts for our Veterans meets to make quilts for wounded veterans. We make lap quilts for wheelchair veterans, but any size or color quilt is happily taken!
This year we will donate our stack of quilts to the Montgomery County Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxillary. We will present our year's worth of work to them on Friday, December 5th-please plan to join us for a celebration. Last year we donated 37 completed quilts-and we are hoping to finish 40 this year! The VFW Auxillary ladies will take the quilts to families and Veterans locally who need a cover of love and appreciation. We are working hard to finish many quilts-if anyone would like to quilt one, give Wallie a call so she will have it ready to go.
Completed quilts have be taken to the Veteran's Hospital in South Houston and delivered directly
to Veterans there. From us to them...it is a good thing!
If you are interested in joining us please give the shop a call,
so we know how any people to expect.
Veteran's Quilt Requirements:
                Many people ask:
What size do we want??? Do they have to be red, white and blue?

Answer: We will take any size and any color of quilts that you are winning to donate.

There are female wounded veterans...there are wounded veterans with babies, who would love a baby quilt!
There are Veterans who are in beds, in wheelchairs (with and without legs)
and veterans who may be homeless.
We are putting NO RESTRICTIONS on size or colors...if you want to make a patriotic wheelchair quilt, approximately 36" X 50" is a good size.
Any and all quilts will be gratefully taken.
Pet Beds!
Thank you to everyone who has donated scraps, sewn beds and yardage for our pet beds!
Over 300 of these beds for homeless and abused kitties, puppies, dogs and cats.
They have been distributed at area shelters and resuce organizaions!
Amy just took a carload of beds to the Pug rescue group-all those puppies now have a bed to snuggle up on while they wait for homes.
The beds are made mostly from fabric that we might have thrown away...
or that would continue to gatherdust in deep corners of our sewing areas!!!
Thank YOU!!!
We are requesting that donations be made of completed beds...
as we are getting bags and bags of scraps which have
been piling up in the shop.
Please be sure that the filling is soft scraps only-not paper or pins...
