A New YearIsn't it wonderful to feel the fresh energy of a brand new year? I am thankful for all the blessings of such fantastic customers and friends, from the previous year and get excited with anticipation about the wonder the new year will bring! Holidays are sew busy, sometimes even hectic, and the new year marks a fresh start. As the year begins we start some new projects, and get back to finishing those we didn't get to last year! Here at the Quarters some brand new projects are underway as well. Be sure to mark your calenders, for Handi Quilter Event Day....Some of you have seen the Sweet Sixteen Sit Down Quilting machine, and now it's the premier of the Handi Quilter Avante 18" long arm!!! Thursday Jan 12th., I have a Handi Quilter Representative coming to the Quarters for the entire day! She will Demo both machines and answer all those questions you may have! This is an excellent opportunity to test drive either or both of these quilting machines. Also, meet Micky Mowery, who will be teaching some quilting classes on this new machine... Let her know your desires on what you want to learn. The following Monday, Ruler technique class showcasing the many uses of the Ruler Revolution rulers. Come sew along with Patti Nethery, the inventor, and see how quick and easy it is to construct several different quilt blocks and units. It is no longer necessary to make one block or unit at a time. Patti will show you how to make 24 half square triangles in 24 minutes, Snowball blocks in 2 minutes without any little squares to mark or sew, completed and ready to use potholders in 10 minutes, and much more. Scheduled for January 16, 2012 from 10:00am to 3:00pm at Quilter’s Quarters. Bring a quilting buddy to add to the fun. This month marks the beginning of our shop wide, half square triangle exchange. There are two colorways offered, one of jewel tones, and one of more traditional fabrics. Editya Star's book has several projects for these half squares, "Tree of Life" is a familar one. No minimum requirements, come in to see the great selections and the details of how this exchange works. Strip club bundles for next month are limited, sew be sure to drop in, see them, and sign up to reserve yours!
